What can you find in the immediate vicinity?

• Rokosjøen itself, a beautiful lake with small islands. It offers swimming, fishing, bird watching and paddling in the summer and ice fishing, ice skating, cross-country skiing, ice swimming and hiking/snowshoeing in the winter.
• Nature reserve in the immediate vicinity with rich and diverse bird life.
• Beautiful forest with nice hiking trails, lots of berries and mushrooms in season and quiet surroundings for meditation and close contact to nature.
• Nice area for cycling.
• Municipal beach in Haverbekkvika, about 500 meters away. There is a shared barbecue, campfire site, sand volleyball court, swimming facilities for the disabled, dog beach, a day trip cabin and marked low-threshold hiking trail, called “Dagsturrunden”.
• Rokoberget with church ruins from the 13th century and a beautiful view over Rokosjøen. You’ll find a hiking trail from the campsite with a climb of about 120 meters and a length of about 2.5 km.
• “Evensteinen” about 1.5 km. away. A huge fascinating boulder that was left behind when the ice melted during the last ice age. A nice hike, also possible to get there by bike or car.
• Rondanestien, which stretches from Oslo to Hjerkinn/Dovre and is about 460 km. long, runs right past the campsite.
• The forest by Rokosjøen Camping is ideal for berry and mushroom picking, hiking, and meditation.
• Mosjømarka, a beautiful hiking area with marked hiking trails and a small lake with swimming opportunities.
• Cultural monuments are easily accessible
